Most videos in a feed are watched with the sound off. If the words aren’t on screen, the story isn’t either.
Fewer words on screen
Three to five words at a time is about right. Long lines make people read instead of watch. Shots splits captions into short phrases by default, timed to the speech.
DoShort phrases that change with the voice.
Don’tFull sentences across the bottom.
Keep them out of the way
Put captions where they won’t sit on a face or under the app’s own buttons. For vertical video, a little above the middle is usually safe.
Check the spelling of names
Speech to text is good, but names and places trip it up. Read through once before you export. It takes a minute and saves the comment that points it out.
